Overview
This program is designed specifically for dentists interested in furthering their knowledge of endodontic dentistry. The objective of the program is for participants to become familiar with endodontic clinical skills and didactic education.

Philosophy
The overall philosophy of the Preceptorship is to provide academic and clinical enrichment, specific to endodontic dentistry, to participants. This will be achieved through participation in post-doctoral endodontic didactic courses and observation of endodontic dental care. The knowledge learned during the Preceptorship will provide the information and skills needed for the participants to further their education and continue their lifelong journey of learning.
Program Design/Objectives
The program comprises didactic seminars and clinical observation. The didactic seminars follow the schedule of the post-doctoral Endodontic Residents. When not in attendance of didactic lectures, participants will partake in clinical observation in the post-doctoral endodontic dental clinic.
Criteria for Selection
- Educational background and previous training in dentistry, demonstrated by a degree in dental medicine from a domestic or foreign institution.
- Commitment to improve endodontic didactic and clinical knowledge.
Schedule
- This program is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., for a 6 week period.
- The program will begin every July or August.
- The program will run one (1) time each calendar year.
- Participants will be allowed 2 sick days.
Course Components/Disciplines
Endodontic Didactic Lectures
Participants will follow the didactic schedule of the post-doctoral Endodontic Residents.
Patient Care Observation
Participants observe the post-doctoral Endodontic Clinic at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Pre-Clinical Hands-on Training
Participants will have the opportunity to participate in pre-clinical training with the Endodontic Residents. However, Participants must provide their own materials, instruments, and handpieces. A detailed list of the instruments to bring will be provided.

The Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is located on the Boston University Medical Campus in Boston’s South End.

Acceptance Requirements
- Have a DDS/DMD degree, or its equivalent, from a domestic or international dental school.
- Submission of a completed application form. Include your curriculum vitae and verified copies of your transcripts from ECE, and dental school diploma.
- Payment of a non-refundable application fee of $100 U.S. (send in with application).
- Visas will not be provided for this program.
- It is strongly recommended to have a TOEFL score of 90 or above to attend this program.
- Attend a personal interview or phone interview.
Additional Requirements upon Acceptance
- Submit immunization records, including TB test results from within 3 months prior to the start of the Preceptorship. Forms must be submitted 6 weeks prior to the start of the program and participants may not start the program until they have been cleared by Occupational Health.
- Completion of ID/ISSO paperwork.
- Completion of HIPAA and Infection Control training.
- Pay a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 U.S. within 14 days of notification of acceptance.
- Full tuition is due 14 days prior to the start of the program.
Tuition
The tuition for the Endodontic Preceptorship is $7,500 for the six-week program. Full tuition is due 14 days prior to the start of the program.
Cancellation Policy
No refunds will be issued after the program has started.

Acceptance into and completion of this Preceptorship does not correlate with admission to any academic program at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
