Dr. Batal is a Clinical Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of Oral Surgery Group Practice at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Serge Dibart is a Professor of Periodontology, Chair of the Department of Periodontology, and Director of Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Figueroa is a Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Liu is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Periodontology and Director of the Fellowship Implant Program at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Fleisher is a Clinical Professor and Director of Predoctoral Periodontics, as well as Director of Faculty Development at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Pani is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Overview:

This CE course will present to the audience new ways for implant placement with a navigation approach and robotics. In the utilization of this technology the digital planning becomes the surgical guide, assisted by the best that technology can do today. The participants will interact with experienced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Periodontists who are leaders in the field of guided surgery.

After sharing their knowledge in the areas of navigation and robotic assisted surgery, together with case selection, computerized tomography, digital planning and surgical preparation, the teams will demonstrate live surgeries which will be streamed from the surgical units. The participants will be able to interact during the surgery and have a pan out view of the surgeries.

The focus of this continuing dental education program is allow for general dentists with experience in implant placement, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and periodontists to receive full exposure to cutting edge technology. The systems utilized are operated by the surgeons.

Course Objectives: 

  • Familiarize yourself with current guided surgery protocols and the evolution to navigation and robotic assisted surgery
  • Understand the importance of accuracy during implant placement determined by a proper digital treatment plan that can be modified on-the-fly.
  • Plan and visualize ideal implant location using advanced 3D imaging, radiographic markers and digital planning.
  • Navigate CBCT imaging and the importance of proper fiduciary markers locations.
  • Learn navigation and robotic implant placement from our own experts.
  • Understand how newer technologies will continue to change the way we practice dentistry.
  • Visualize the future of implant dentistry
