Overview

Selecting the ideal material for clinical conditions can be confusing for dental practitioners. Ceramic systems are not all the same. They each have different cosmetic potential and physical properties, as well as an evidence base relative to their longevity. In today’s practice, patients are increasingly demanding dental restorations that are both esthetic and functional. Obtaining predictable esthetic outcomes requires precise attention to detail with regard to tooth preparation, cervical margin design and location, soft tissue management, and impression making. This course will offer an extended review of clinical cases.

Course Objectives

• Review the importance of case selection and treatment planning
• Review the principles of tooth preparations and soft tissue management
• Understand the differences in restorative materials available and their properties
• Review the protocol for anterior esthetic cases
• Understand the need of communication and collaboration between the restorative dentist and dental technician
• Understand the need of a dental team of specialists to support esthetic outcomes
