GSDM Community Tops 2015 Donation Totals During Giving Day 2016

On April 6, 2016, Giving Day 2016, a total of 324 members of the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine community combined to donate approximately $60,000 to the School, placing GSDM fourth out of the 17 schools and colleges of Boston University for number of donors during Giving Day 2016.
GSDM topped its 2015 Giving Day totals for both number of donors and amount of money raised. During Giving Day 2015, on April 8, 2015, GSDM raised $50,602 with a total of 195 donors. Giving Day 2016 saw more than a13 percent increase in funds raised and more than a 66 percent increase in number of donors.
Donations on Giving Day 2016 came from all areas of the GSDM community: alumni, faculty, staff, residents, pre-doctoral students, and post-doctoral students/residents.
“It’s a testament to our alumni and the GSDM community that we ranked fourth out of 17 schools this year,” said Mr. Kevin Holland, Assistant Dean for Development & Alumni Relations. “With a total GSDM alumni population of approximately 7,800, we consistently rank with the largest schools at the University.”
Also, due to the generous pledge from Dr. Ronni Schnell and Dr. Bing Liu to match each donation made, GSDM raised an additional $5,000 for its Giving Day 2016 total. Dr. Schnell is a Clinical Professor in the Department of General Dentistry and Director of the Division of Pre-doctoral Removable Prosthodontics. Dr. Liu is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of General Dentistry.
