Teaching Assistants Recognition Luncheon

On Tuesday, May 7, 2013, the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) held a Teaching Assistants (TA) Recognition Luncheon for the 21 TAs.

Dr. Mark Ferriero, clinical associate professor in the Department of General Dentistry, and Dr. Ronni Schnell, clinical professor in the Department of General Dentistry and director of the Division of Pre-doctoral Removable Prosthodontics, presented the graduating students in attendance with certificates of appreciation for their contributions as teaching assistants in the pre-clinical occlusion and pre-clinical removable prosthodontics class.

Certificates were awarded to: Varun Arya (Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics), Nicholas Baldelli, (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Danielle Berkowitz (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Christopher Bickford (Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics), Joseph Bousaba (Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics), Bryan Dawley (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), John Greiner (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion & Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics), Thomas Hernon (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Marian Ibarra (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Andrew Jorgensen (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Kathy Ko (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Linda Lee (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Nadia Malik (Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics), Michael Maya (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Jahan Monirian (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Paul Nardi (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Sara Nikfar (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Jennifer Rubin (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), Prachi Sontakke (Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics), Justin Van Dusen (Pre-Doctoral Occlusion), and Giuseppina Verde (Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics).

“Senior Teaching Assistants are invaluable assets to the high quality and successful execution of my course in Pre-Doctoral Occlusion,” said Dr. Ferriero. “The student peer interactions are mutually gratifying and satisfying for all involved, including faculty.”

Said Dr. Schnell, “I wish to congratulate the TAs on their efforts despite their heavy schedules. I hope that they got as much out of this opportunity as their students did and that they continue to be lifelong teachers and learners.”

Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter commended the TAs as well. “Congratulations to the teaching assistants,” said Dean Hutter. “Your contributions to the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine are truly valuable and inspire both students and faculty.”
