Dr. Fahad Al-Harbi Appointed Dean of the College of Dentistry at King Faisal University

Assistant Professor at Boston University Institute for Dental Research and Education (BUIDRE) Dubai and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Restorative Sciences/Biomaterials at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) Dr. Fahad Al-Harbi was appointed Dean of the College of Dentistry at King Faisal University, located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Al-Harbi is the first dentist to hold this position since the establishment of the College in 2003. All previous deans were physicians. Prior to being appointed Dean, Dr Al-Harbi served as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. In this leadership position, Dr. Al-Harbi will be facing several major challenges, including achieving full accreditation of the College with the National Commission for Accreditation and Assessment. In addition, Dr. Al Harbi will oversee the complete restructuring of the College of Dentistry curriculum, and will be responsible for developing future plans to improve the College.

Dr. Al-Harbi received his BDS from King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia in 1995. He then went on to earn a CAGS in Prosthodontics in 2000, a MSD in 2001, and DScD in 2005, all from GSDM. Also in 2005, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
