Michalakis said he is humbled to receive this national honor and believes this award reflects his and his colleagues’ efforts to support junior faculty members and instruct students who entrust GSDM with their dental education.

This award is not an award that just I got, but rather it’s an award that goes to all the people that I get to work with,” Michalakis said.

Michalakis said the award is inspiring him to continue striving to be a better professor and colleague.

“I am always motivated because I love what I’m doing,” Michalakis said. “Teaching is the most important part of my career. This award will motivate me to try even harder and improve the way that I teach.”
