The Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) Endodontic Alumni Association held its Fall Meeting on October 15–18, 2014 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Timothy Penberthy ENDO 95 chaired the meeting. He developed a robust complement of lectures and programs for the Endo alums and their families.

On Wednesday evening, as a kick-off to the annual meeting, a welcome reception was held at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, the location of the week’s festivities. Endodontic Alumni Association President Marshall Michaelian Jr. ENDO 01 thanked everyone for attending and provided an update on the Alumni Association.

Thursday and Friday were filled with lectures and presentations from Dr. Bob Achterberg, Dr. Earl Ness, Dr. Rod Tatryn, and GSDM alums Brian Beebe ENDO 93, and John Stropko ENDO 89. Topics included Oral Pathology: HPV and Oral Cancer, “All Things Pros”, CT Long Beam & Sinuses, Lasers in Endodontics, External Resorption, and Endodontic Microsurgery.

On Thursday evening, after a full day of lectures, everyone gathered for a dinner cruise on The Spirit of Coeur d’Alene. Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics and Director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program (ASEP) in Endodontics Dr. Sami Chogle spoke to the alumni and their guests as to the Department of Endodontics and the ASEP in Endodontics, and invited them all back to Boston to give lectures to the residents. He told them that, as GSDM alums, the Program would welcome their input and the residents would benefit from their experiences.

On Friday evening, the endodontic alumni and their families were entertained at a dueling piano bar while they enjoyed a cocktail hour and dinner. The meeting concluded on Saturday with lunch and a tour of the Sierra Silver Mine.

The next Endodontic Alumni Association meeting will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on October 7-11, 2015 and will be organized by Ben Locke ENDO 79.
