For the ninth year in a row, the Alpha Omega chapters from GSDM and TUSDM provided free dental and oral cancer screenings to fans coming into Fenway Park from 5:30 to 8 that evening. Fans also walked away with free toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss, as well as educational pamphlets on oral cancer.

“This event was a huge success,” said Group Practice Leader Dr. David Dano. “Alpha Omega students, faculty, and dentists from the Boston area demonstrated once again their motivation, commitment, and enthusiasm in giving back to the community and promoting oral health awareness.”

The event was founded and is organized and led by Tufts, but has had plenty of GSDM involvement. Volunteers from GSDM faculty included Group Practice Leaders Drs. David Dano and Ryota Kikuchi. Students Jessica Finkielsztein DMD 16 and Janna Login DMD 16 also volunteered.

GSDM plans to participate in future Fenway Tooth Days. “I strongly recommend GSDM students and faculty to join us in our future events,” Dano suggested.
