The Fair was sponsored by Vinfen, Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH), Bay Cove Human Services, North Suffolk Mental Health, and Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry. It was held at the DMH Gym of the Erich Lindemann Mental Health Center.

Yasmin Alayyoubi DMD 14, Erum Hussain AS 14, Sukhjinder Kaur AS 14, Jae Kwak DMD 16, Andrea Lam DMD 16, Kelley McLaughlin DMD 14, Peter Meaney DMD 14, and Kathy Lituri provided a wide range of oral health promotion and screenings. The Fair was aimed at people with special needs including developmental and behavioral disabilities.

“The Fair provided a great opportunity to promote oral health and offer dental screenings to individuals with developmental and behavioral health disabilities,” said Kathy Lituri. “It gave the GSDM students an opportunity to learn more about the oral health issues faced by adults with special needs and to interact with other professionals in this field.”

“The ‘Fall into Wellness’ Health and Wellness Fair proved to be a vital learning experience for GSDM students,” said Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter. “Students received hands-on training to treat special needs patients, which has been an important focus here at GSDM for many years.
