Dr. Sok-Ja Janket Lectures at Seoul National University

news-janket-SNUlecture-200Associate Research Professor Dr. Sok-Ja Janket recently returned from Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNU) where she presented a lecture on April 27, titled, “Future Direction in Oral and Systemic Health Research.”

Dr. Janket says she taught periodontists and research staff at SNU that, “In my opinion, in the past, periodontists were less than perfect when controlling competing risk factors in oral and systemic health research. In light of the recent American Heart Association announcement stating that there is ‘no evidence that periodontal treatments prevent heart disease’ I believe that research should be done with less bias in the future.”

Dr. Janket was pleased to be invited to lecture at SNU, which she enthusiastically describes as a progressive, cutting-edge, research-oriented facility. But she was even more pleased to be invited by GSDM alum and her former research mentee Hyo-Jung Lee MSD 04, PERIO 05. Dr. Lee is a full-time faculty member at the hospital.

Dr. Janket said proudly of Dr. Lee, “It was very rewarding to see that Dr. Lee is very much loved by patients and staff. She is working hard and continuing her research, which I was happy to have the chance to consult on during my visit.”
