GSDM Increases BU Relay for Life Participation with Two Teams

The BU Relay for Life took place on April 14 and 15 at the BU Track and Tennis Center. GSDM participated for the fourth year in a row, this time with so many people involved they needed two teams. The teams, comprised of 48 students, faculty, staff, and friends total, participated in the overnight event to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

ASDA Community Outreach Chair Jenny Lorenzo DMD 13 organized GSDM’s participation and Rachel Lukas DMD 13 served as the team captain of the second team. As a result of their combined leadership and many generous donations, the team raised $774.

The volunteers took turns walking laps around the Center, listened to a variety of live music, sang karaoke, and danced up a storm.

“I had a great time at this year’s Relay for Life,” said Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter. “The enthusiasm of the students, faculty, and staff involved was amazing. I am so proud of them for being a part of this worthy event.”
