Students Explore the Possibilities at GSDM Career Fair
Students considering their career path visited the 2nd Annual GSDM Career Fair in Hiebert Lounge on April 5. Student Affairs hosted the fair, which drew 15 vendors, ranging from local large group practices, to state dental associations (as far away as California), to the armed forces. Vendor representatives discussed potential career opportunities with the 150 students who attended.
“We were pleased to see so many students attend the Career Fair this year,” said Assistant Dean of Students Dr. Joseph Calabrese. “Our office calculated that there was a 20% increase in attendance compared to last year, which is great news. We look forward to continuing this successful event, which helps students connect with potential employers and possibly even line up a job for after graduation.”
Students also had the chance to claim one of 14 raffle prizes including 2 half-gallons of Vermont maple syrup from the Vermont State Dental Society, which were awarded to Deepthi Vasireddy DMD 12 and Shannon Farazi DMD 13. The grand prize was a high speed handpiece and coupler generously donated to Student Affairs by Dentsply. Kabir Ram DMD 13 was the lucky winner.
