Kelsey Hill DMD 14 and Arsalan Elahi DMD 14 Appointed to CoSRF

CoSRF representatives

Kelsey Hill DMD 14 and Arsalan Elahi DMD 14 are both interested in dental education and curriculum. Because of this interest they were motivated to apply to represent GSDM at the ADEA Council of Students, Residents and Fellows (CoSRF). The mission of CoSRF is to serve as a national voice and advocate for all students in the dental education community by addressing the issues that shape the present and future of dental education.

Hill said, “Ever since I started dental school I have been interested in dental education and I saw this as a perfect opportunity to learn more and as a way to potentially explore a career in dental education.” Hill will serve as a representative for two years.

Elahi added, “When I saw the call for applications I thought that CoSRF sounded like a great organization. I am very interested in how dental education is taught and how curriculum is developed.” Elahi will serve as a representative for one year.

The students will travel to the 2012 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition in Florida where they will attend education sessions with CoSRF representatives from other schools. They hope the Session will allow them to exchange ideas and learn more about dental education at other schools. When they return they will write up a report on what they took away from the Session and meet with Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter to discuss. Both students are honored to be selected for these roles and are excited to have the opportunity to attend the Session.
