Jawbreakers Advance to Championship Game

The GSDM intramural ice hockey team, the Jawbreakers, just concluded a great season. This year the team advanced to the Championship Game on Wednesday, November 9. Unfortunately they were defeated by their opponents, Saucy and Frothy, but they were pleased with their efforts none-the-less.

Team members included GSDM students:  Matt Annese, Sara Mandell, Derek Collins, Sarah Courtney, Paul Nardi, Michael Courtney, Shawn Groyeski, Rob Cauley, Richard "Trip" Egan, Jeff Bellanti, Thomas Keeling, Caitlin Reddy, Daniel Moynihan, Alan Jue, and Chris Chan. Also on the team were faculty and staff members: Andy Burke, Frank Schiano, Thomas Kilgore, and Sheldon Itzkowitz.

Burke said, “We had a great season! Not only did we have very talented hockey players, we had  great individuals who will only make their profession better. Best of luck to our seniors—Sarah Courtney, Michael Courtney, Matt Annese, Trip Egan, and Jeff Bellanti—as they start their professional careers.”
