Two GSDM Students Selected to MDS Leadership Institute

Dee Gulis DMD 12 and Ana Serrenho DMD 13 have been selected to participate in the Massachusetts Dental Society Leadership Institute Program. The training they receive as part of this Program will push them to think outside the box, run effective meetings, motivate and inspire others to get involved, and understand and articulate to others the major legislative issues impacting the profession.
Participants will learn valuable leadership skills from prominent national speakers over the course of four half-day training sessions per year, one evening team-building program, and one evening project meeting. The program is limited to 16 dentists and two dental students each year and gets underway on September 14.
“I wanted to get involved with the Leadership Institute to further develop skills that I can use to support the goals of the MDS,” said Serrenho. “As a long-time Massachusetts resident, I am excited to be working with an organization that focuses statewide on oral health and oral health professionals.”
“I know this will be an excellent learning experience for Dee and Ana,” said Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter. “I know I speak on behalf of the entire School when I congratulate them on being accepted into this prestigious program. The training they receive will serve them well in their future careers in the dental profession.”
