Stand-out Science Recognized at Luncheon

2011 Science Day winners were honored at a luncheon on April 6. The winning posters in the pre- and postdoctoral student categories as well as postdoctoral fellow categories were on display. In addition, students who have won other awards for research throughout the year were on hand to display their work and receive recognition from the assembled group of students, staff, and faculty, as well as special guest Provost Karen Antman.

Associate Dean for Research Maria Kukuruzinska and Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter both addressed the guests and shared how proud they were of all GSDM researchers.

Dean Hutter said, “A very special thank you goes out to the many students and faculty who contributed to the outstanding oral and poster research presentations we had on Science Day, and to all of the faculty who served as judges for both the poster and oral research presentations.”

He continued, “We can all take pride in our School’s research mission and especially our students, faculty, and administration who recognize the importance of research and the positive impact it has, and will continue to have, on the education we provide our students, and the overall healthcare of the patients we have the privilege of treating.”
