Endodontic Certificate Party: New Host Continues Tradition of Great Celebration

Herbert Schilder Professor in Endodontics and Director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics Dr. George Huang handed out his first batch of certificates to 2010 graduates of the Advanced Specialty Education Program at a certificate party held at Clinic Coordinator Edlira Kerthi’s house on June 24.

"The graduation of this class holds a special place in my heart as this is my first time celebrating a graduating class of residents at their certificate party, since I became Chair of this Program last September," said Dr. Huang. "Although I only spent less than a year with this graduating class, I felt I have been with them throughout their entire training."

Dr. Huang acknowledged the dedication and hard work required of the residents to get to this point. He continued, "I added many new study assignments and training regimens for the graduates since my arrival in the hopes that they would graduate from this program as outstanding endodontists. They have been studying and working extremely hard and their diligence has finally paid off. They all did great on the American Board of Endodontics Written Examination or, for those that are Canadian residents, on the Royal College of Dentists of Canada Endodontic Board Exam."

The certificate party celebrated the achievements of the 2010 graduates and provided a wonderful setting for them to gather together with faculty, staff, and the class of 2011, before departing for professional opportunities across the United States.

"Thanks to all the endodontic faculty and staff who have helped them to graduate as excellent endodontists," said Dr. Huang. "As of today, they join our endodontic alumni family and I wish them success in their future professional endeavors and hope that they will come back to visit us often."
