National Academies of Practice Inducts Steven Perlman PEDO 76

The National Academies of Practice (NAP) elected Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry Steven Perlman PEDO 76 as a distinguished practitioner-member at a gala membership banquet held on March 20. Dr. Perlman was among a group of new members inducted from ten healthcare professions during the NAP Annual Meeting held March 19-20 in Arlington, Virginia.
The NAP was founded in 1981 and recognizes the need for interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare. Its members hail from ten health disciplines including: Dentistry, Nursing, Optometry, Osteopathic Medicine, Medicine, Psychology, Podiatric Medicine, Social Work, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmacy.
Each year the NAP holds a forum focused on public policy issues during the Annual Meeting. This year’s forum featured an array of perspectives on the issues of implementing health promotion and prevention strategies and the implications for practitioners.
"Congratulations to Dr. Perlman," said Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter. "This is indeed an honor for him to be recognized and elected to this prestigious academy as a representative for the entire field of dental medicine. I am certain that he will excel in this new role and wish him the best of luck."
