AAWD Starts Off Spring With a Yankee Candle Fundraiser

The week of March 29, the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD) held their second Yankee Candle fundraiser of the 2009-2010 school year.

On Monday, AAWD members provided lunch in room 301 of the Dental School to kick off the fundraising week. Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter made the first purchase of the week. The group had six scents on display, including many new favorites such as Lemon Lavender and Beach Walk. A “scratch and sniff” catalog was on hand if customers wanted to order additional scented merchandise. They are happy to now accept credit card payment for fundraiser purchases.

Typically, the group holds one Yankee Candle fundraising event a year, however due to a successful sale in the Fall 2009 semester, they decided to have a Spring sale also. The group is also planning to set up a table closer to Mother’s Day, for last-minute gift purchases. The AAWD is fundraising for a Women’s Panel Brunch which will be held on the Charles River Campus on May 8.
