GSDM Counts Down to Kindergarten

Entering kindergarten is a milestone for many parents and children. That is why Countdown to Kindergarten kicks off a year in advance with activities that prepare both parents and children for the start of kindergarten the following year.

Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) Division of Community Health Programs (CHP) was proud to be a part of this annual event at Boston Children’s Museum on September 1. Oral Health Promotion Director Kathy Lituri and a team of 22 GSDM student volunteers provided free dental screenings to 116 children. The group of volunteers also provided oral health education and giveaways to most of the 600 families in attendance.

Sara Lalani DMD 2012, who has volunteered for the past two years, said, "Countdown to Kindergarten is one of my favorite events. I really enjoy interacting with the kids and teaching them about the importance of oral health care."
