GSDM Honors Dr. Gerald Kramer

Dean Jeffrey Hutter, Mrs. Kathy Hutter, and Mrs. Sylvia Kramer hosted a Periodontic Alumni Reception in honor of former Professor and Chair of Periodontology and Oral Biology Dr. Gerald Kramer during the 2009 American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting.
The event took place on Monday, September 14 at the Seaport Hotel Lighthouse Room and reunited alumni from decades past who had been previously estranged from the School.
"Mending this historical rift has been an important priority for me and since becoming dean a little more than a year ago, I have been working on reaching out and welcoming you all home," said Dean Hutter. "With the help of the Kramer family, Myron Nevins PERIO 67, and Ernesto Muller PERIO 61 we are finally together after all these years."
Approximately 250 alumni, faculty, staff, family, and friends attended the reception which included remarks by Dean Hutter, Professor and Chair of Periodontology and Oral Biology Dr. Frank Oppenheim, Dr. Nevins, and Dr. and Mrs. Kramer’s daughter, Leslie. Dean Hutter also revealed a new "Gerald M. Kramer Periodontology Clinic" sign that will be hung on the second floor of the School following completion of the upcoming renovations.
"It was so gratifying to have one alum after another approach me and talk about how wonderful it was to be welcomed home, back into the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine family," added Dean Hutter.
