Dean Jeffrey Hutter Receives Award at AAE Annual Session

Alumni, faculty, and residents of Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) traveled to the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida for the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) 2009 Annual Session, held April 29 – May 2.
While at the session the GSDM participants came together for the Edgar D. Coolidge Luncheon on May 1, where GSDM Dean Jeffrey Hutter was presented with the Edgar D. Coolidge Award. This award is the AAE’s highest honor and is presented to an individual who has displayed leadership and exemplary dedication to dentistry and endodontics.
"I was extremely honored to receive the Edgar D. Coolidge Award," said Dean Hutter. "This level of recognition from my peers at the American Association of Endodontists means a great deal to me and it was made even more poignant by having my wife, Kathy, and members of the GSDM community at the luncheon to support me as I accepted the award."
In addition to the award, Dean Hutter was also presented with a letter at the ceremony stating that 34 GSDM endodontic alumni had made donations to the AAE in recognition of his achievements and nomination for the 2009 Edgar D. Coolidge Award. The donations amounted to $18,450.
Alums also gathered together on Friday, May 1, for a reception and on Saturday, May 2, for a business meeting.
"It was wonderful to see so many endodontic alums, faculty, and residents along with their families at the GSDM reception during the Annual Session," added Dean Hutter. "Gaylord Palms served as an ideal location for us to gather together to participate in the learning and networking experiences that the AAE Annual Session provides."
