BUGSDM Students Present at Hinman Symposium

Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) students Lucas Patrick DMD 10 and Daniel Jammal DMD 10 attended the Hinman Student Research Symposium, an annual event hosted by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry. The Symposium honors student efforts in dental research and was held at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee from October 31 to November 2.
Patrick, who worked with Associate Professor and Director of Biomaterials Dr. Russell Giordano on his research, presented an abstract titled, "Comparison of Flexural Strength of Resin-infused Y-TZP and Glass-infused Y-TZP with Fully Dense Y-TZP." Jammal, who worked with Professor and Chair of Periodontology and Oral Biology Dr. Frank Oppenheim and Assistant Professor Dr. Eva Helmerhorst presented an abstract titled, "Exploration of the Antifungal Activity of Parotid Secretion."
"I was excited to see other student’s research being presented at the Symposium," said Patrick. "Participating in this gave me a sense of reward and motivated me to continue researching biomaterials."
