Alumni Weekend Celebrates the Move to Fall With Lively Reception

A reception hosted by Dean Jeffrey and Mrs. Kathy Hutter for the alumni of Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) was held at the Taj Boston on Friday, October 24. The reception which boasted attendance of more than 70 alums, plus BUGSDM faculty and staff, kicked off alumni weekend and marked the festivities move to fall.

Prior to this year, alums celebrated their reunions at the Spring Gala held during commencement weekend in May. Now alumni weekend festivities will correspond with the University’s Reunion/Alumni Weekend, allowing participants to take advantage of BUGSDM activities as well as University activities.

"It is an honor to have so many alums join us tonight," said Dean Hutter. "Our School has undergone many changes in the past year and coming together at events like these allows us to reflect on how far we have come and also to discuss what the future may hold."

Also during the weekend, Dean Hutter and the BUGSDM Alumni Board attended the Boston University Leadership Summit in honor of alumni commitment and leadership. President Brown began the Summit on Saturday, October 25, with welcoming remarks and a progress update on the University’s Strategic Plan. Following President Brown’s address the BUGSDM Alumni Board participated in a breakout discussion and planning session. The Summit ended with a celebratory luncheon in honor of the contributions of volunteer leaders and distinguished alums across all Boston University schools, colleges, and programs.
