Faculty Appointments and Promotions Announced
Ms. Madalyn Mann appointed Adjunct Associate Professor of General Dentistry. Mann retired from her position as Director of APEX and Extramural Programs and Associate Professor of General Dentistry in July 2008. In her role as Adjunct Associate Professor she will continue to work with the Department of General Dentistry from her new home in Miami, Florida. Prior to her retirement Mann served Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) for 33 years.
Dr. Ming Fang Su promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor to Clinical Associate Professor of Periodontology and Oral Biology. Dr. Su joined BUGSDM in 1991 as a Clinical Instructor. Dr. Su has a DDS from Jiaotong University School of Dentistry and a DMD from BUGSDM. Dr. Su won teaching awards for the Department of Periodontology and Oral Biology in both 2003 and 2005.
Dr. Anne-Marie Barussaud appointed Assistant Professor of Endodontics. Dr. Barussaud received her DMD from Laval University in 2004. She went on to study at BUGSDM, receiving her CAGS/MScD in 2008. Dr. Barussaud also has a Certificate in Psychology.
Dr. Tun-Yi (Edward) Hsu appointed Assistant Professor of Endodontics. Dr. Hsu received his DDS from China Medical University in 1997, his CAGS/DScD in Endodontic from BUGSDM in 2004, and his DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2007. In addition to serving on the faculty at BUGSDM he is also an Associate Endodontist at two private practices in Quincy, Massachusetts: Excel Family Dental and Suburban Endodontics and Associates.
Dr. Arvi Duka appointed Clinical Instructor of General Dentistry. Dr. Duka received a DDS from "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania in 2001 and a DMD from BUGSDM in 2007. He also works as a General Dentist at Gentle Dental in Brighton, Massachusetts.
Dr. Jason Megens appointed Clinical Instructor of General Dentistry. Dr. Megens received his DMD from BUGSDM in 2003. In addition to serving as an instructor at BUGSDM, Dr. Megens is a General Dentist at South Shore Dental Group in Braintree, Massachusetts.
Dr. Jens Martin Herrmann appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor of Periodontology and Oral Biology. Dr. Herrmann received a DDS from Justus-Liebig University, a Certificate in Periodontology and a DMD from Universitaetsklinikum-ZMK. Dr. Herrmann is an Alexander Humboldt Foundation scholar.
Dr. Monica Cordoba appointed Adjunct Clinical Instructor of General Dentistry. Dr. Cordoba received a DDS from National University of Mexico and a DMSc and a Certificate in Periodontology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In addition to serving as an adjunct faculty member at BUGSDM, she is a Clinical Instructor of Periodontology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, a Periodontist at Lynn Community Health Center, and a Periodontist and Clinical Researcher at The Forsyth Institute.
Dr. Sandra Zemlyansky appointed Adjunct Clinical Instructor of General Dentistry. Dr. Zemlyansky received a DDS from Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. In addition to serving as an adjunct faculty member at BUGSDM she is a General Dentist at Lynn Community Health Center.
