17th Annual Implantology Reception Hosts Participants From Around the Globe

A reception in honor of the Seventeenth Annual International Symposium on Implantology was held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza on May 15. The reception included 400 participants and 50 speakers who hailed from 14 different countries. Participants, including Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) students, faculty, and staff, enjoyed dinner and dancing at the event.

Organizer of the symposium and Director for both the Center for Implantology and the Division of Continuing Education Zhimon Jacobson welcomed everyone to the event and thanked them warmly for participating in this annual symposium.

Dean ad interim Jeffrey Hutter acknowledged the dedication and hard work that went into planning both the symposium and the reception and added, "Harnessing the talents and contributions of a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students continues to be a major objective of BUGSDM. As I look into the crowd tonight, I am pleased to see what a diverse group of dental professionals this event continues to bring together. Implantology has certainly made great strides in the 17 years since the first International Symposium on Implantology was held, and I thank Dr. Jacobson for remaining dedicated to presenting a high standard of innovation at this event each year."

The Seventeenth Annual International Symposium on Implantology was held at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge from May 12 – 17. This annual event was broken down into three topics and several presenters spoke to each topic, giving participants the latest information in this cutting-edge field. Topics included The Science of Implantology, Implant Systems Hands-On, and Implantology Symposium Advanced Topics.
