COM Cardswipe Building Access
Students looking to access the COM building after hours and on weekends have the ability to register for cardswipe building access.
For Building Access:
Visit Brad Fernandes in office 102 (1st floor of COM, Kenmore Sq/East side). Only Brad can authorize students for building access and your ID must be presented in person for it to be added to the system. Brad is generally available M-F, 9-4pm.
Note, as the system requires additional information from the BUID, your card must be physically present to provide access. This process cannot be done via email or a phone call so please plan to complete this process several days before extended access is desired. Only Brad is authorized to add students to the system.
Extended Building Access Policies:
With extended building access students may use their BUID to gain entry via the “glass tower” exterior stairwell daily between the hours of 6am and midnight. Students must leave the building no latter then 1am. There is no building access allowed between 1am – 5am.
During extended access periods computer lab 338 and the student lounge will be open. B&W Printing is available in the student lounge and color printing is available in 338. Specialty rooms such as the individual edit suites are not open — please plan accordingly.
There is no tech support on weekends. If a technical problem is encountered, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and a staff member will look into the issue on the following business day.
Everyone entering the building must be approved for cardswipe access, including all group members when working on group projects. Any attempt to prop open doors or otherwise bypassing building security will result in permanent revocation of cardswipe access and will result in disciplinary actions.
COM reserves the right to modify building access policies at any time.
