A Community of Faith, Music, and Fellowship
The Inner Strength Gospel Choir (ISGC) at Boston University is a non-denominational, student-led organization dedicated to spreading the joy of gospel music and creating a welcoming space for spiritual connection. Rooted in a tradition of faith, service, and song, ISGC serves as a home for students seeking meaningful, shared religious and spiritual experiences while uplifting the Boston University community and beyond.
Founded in 1973 by a small group of Black students looking for a space to express their faith through music, ISGC has grown into a diverse and vibrant choir. Its members range from undergraduate students to alumni, come from various backgrounds, and are united by a shared passion for gospel music and community. The group gathers each Sunday evening during the academic year to sing, worship, and support one another in faith and life.
