Bach Experience

Led by Director of Music, the Arts, and Cultural Engagement Dr. Scott Allen Jarrett, the Bach Experience at Marsh Chapel brings to life the profound musical and theological world of Johann Sebastian Bach. Now in its 18th year, this series delves into Bach’s sacred cantatas—works that illuminate the week’s liturgy through deep musical expression.

Throughout the year, Dr. Jarrett, the Chapel Choir, soloists, and Collegium orchestra present a series of cantatas in both lecture and performance. Each Bach Experience begins at 9:45AM with an exploration of the cantata’s musical and theological significance. Following a complimentary breakfast, the cantata is presented in its intended liturgical setting as part of the Sunday morning service.

Join us for this unique and immersive journey into Bach’s music—where history, faith, and artistry come together.
