A Beautiful Gothic Chapel in the Heart of Boston

Marsh Chapel is an ideal location for a vibrant, traditional celebration or a more intimate gathering. Our spaces include our beautiful, historic sanctuary as well as several smaller rooms that can be used for meetings, intimate gatherings, religious services, or small-scale meals.

We do not have a space suitable for Wedding Receptions.

Chapel Sanctuary

Seated Capacity: 375

Known for it’s exquisite, colorful stained glass and intricate woodwork, our sanctuary is truly a work of art. This space is ideal for weddings, memorial services, and larger events. All events in this space are subject to the approval of the Marsh Chapel Dean and must align with the mission, vision, and overarching legacy of the chapel. Please note, this space cannot be reserved by Religious Life groups without the oversight of a
University Chaplain.

Robinson Chapel

Seated Capacity: 40

Located in the lower level of the chapel, this space is perfect for intimate weddings and small religious gatherings. A curtain has been added to the traditional altar space so the Christian iconography can be hidden when the space is being used for Muslim or Dharmic prayer gatherings or multi-faith events. Food is NOT permitted in this space.

Thurman Room

Seated Capacity: 20 (Room is arranged with chairs in a large circle)

The Thurman Room, affectionately named for our most famous dean, Howard Thurman, is a small, comfortable space that is perfectly acquainted for scripture study, book groups, or small fellowship gatherings.

Marsh Room

Seated Capacity: 40-50 (Tables arranged in rows with chairs around them for a meal)

Home to our weekly community dinners and Easter Sunday brunch, the Marsh Room is essentially our family dining room. This space can be used for small events in which food will be served. However, it can also be arranged with chairs in rows and used for a class or meetings, or the chairs and tables can be put away on their rack and used for wellness programming like Tai Chi.
