Marion Candrea

Marion joined Boston University in November 2023 as its Associate Vice President, Internal Audit & Advisory Services, and has spent more than 15 years in internal audit within higher education. After beginning her career at Ernst & Young, Marion joined the internal audit group at Rutgers University in 2008. During COVID, she had the unique opportunity to take on the role of Chief Audit Executive at Ohio University, where she led the Office of Audit, Risk, and Compliance, splitting her time between Ohio and her home state of NJ. Her experience between both institutions includes facilitating an Enterprise Risk Management program, managing a university ethics hotline, directing a University Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer, serving on university committees, conducting countless audits, among other tasks.  

Marion is an active volunteer with the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA). She has held numerous leadership roles with the organization—including having served as President of the Board of Directors from 2023-2024. In her spare time, Marion enjoys running and really tasty meals. One of her favorite past times is doing destination races, which combines her love of fitness and her love of trying new foods (and drinks) in new places!
