The Future of Fracking

BU environment experts weigh in on what a Biden-Harris administration means for the fracking industry.

| in Community, Features

Do you have questions on where the Biden-Harris administration stands on fracking and what it actually means for the industry and climate change? CAS Professor of Earth & Environment Nathan Phillips spoke to The Brink about what he thinks about the president’s plan for fracking and what the city of Boston and climate advocates can and need to do. Earlier in 2020, Nathan protested a natural gas compressor station in Weymouth, Massachusetts through a hunger striking.

Additionally, Nathan’s colleague Assistant Professor of Earth & Environment Christoph Nolte spoke to The Brink about climate change and how he created the first high-resolution map of land value in the United States. This creation will help determine the cost of conservation going forward. You can read about further BU research and plans that address climate change at BU Today.
