One of the endless questions about our galaxy—how stars are made—has a few more answers.

CAS Astronomy Researcher Thushara Pillai and her new research in Nature Astronomy demonstrate how magnetic fields within molecular clouds can help bring about new stars. She has even captured the first images of magnetic fields surrounding groups of young stars. Thushara spoke to The Brink about her findings and what she discovered, light-years away.
