Professor Emeritus of Biology Thomas H. Kunz died at the age of 81 on April 13, 2020, from COVID-19. A beloved teacher and colleague, who was known as “Bat Man” because of his expertise and research about the species, Tom will be remembered for his sense of humor, his global impact on the field of biology, and his mentorship of students and other faculty members. He taught at BU for almost four decades, and his time at BU included being named a William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professor and myriad friendships and memories.
