  • American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) – Emerging Voices Fellowship

    Deadline: 9:00 p.m., ET, January 12, 2022
    The program allows recent PhDs in the humanities and humanistic social sciences to take up one-year positions at select institutions in ACLS’ Research University Consortium for the 2021-22 academic year. At a time of economic downturn and uncertainty in academe, the fellowships provide support for a vanguard of scholars whose voices, perspectives, and broad visions will strengthen institutions of higher education and humanistic disciplines in the years to come.Applicants must have received their PhD in the humanities or humanistic social sciences from a US institution and that degree must be conferred between June 1, 2018 and December 31, 2021.All applicants must attest to formal receipt of the PhD (degree conferred) by December 2021. Students who anticipate receiving the PhD after December 31, 2021 are not eligible.

    ACLS Consortium institution for academic years 2022–23 and 2023–24.

    The stipend for fellows in 2022–24 will be $65,000 per year, supplemented by an annual $3,500 in funds for research, travel, books, computers, childcare, or other expenses. ACLS also will provide a one-time relocation allowance of $3,000.
