The BU BUILDS team took third place in the finals for the Polytechnic Institute of New York University’s CSAW (Cyber-Security Awareness Week) Capture-the-Flag competition last month. Four members of BUILDS traveled to the finals at NYU-Poly in Brooklyn: Allan Wirth (CAS’15, Computer Science), Danny Cooper (CAS’13, Computer Science), Jeff Crowell (CAS’13, Computer Engineering), and George Silvis III (CAS’14, Mathematics/Ancient Greek).
In the finals, the top 15 undergraduate teams from the preliminary round competed to solve challenges relevant to modern computer security. BUILDS took third place in a very competitive field of teams from other prestigious universities across the U.S. and Canada.
