Learning Assistant (LA) Program
Description
Learning Assistants (LAs) are undergraduate students who, through the guidance of weekly preparation sessions with faculty and a pedagogy course, facilitate discussions among groups of students in a variety of classroom settings that encourage active engagement. The goal of the LA Program is to transform courses so that they are more closely aligned with research-based instructional strategies. In addition, LAs enhance their own learning abilities through their understanding of pedagogy. There are approximately 54 LA-supported courses across campus. LAs currently support specific courses within CAS, ENG, SAR, and CGS. Please contact us if you have questions.
