In this final session of the conference, the themes and ideas of the earlier papers are expanded upon and responded to by a [...]distinguished panel. Dr. Kermit Crawford is a licensed psychologist and a designated forensic psychologist, and he is the Director of the Center for Multicultural Mental Health at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Shamaila Khan is the Clinical Director of the Disaster Behavioral Health Program and Clinical Faculty at the Center for Multicultural Mental Health, at the Boston Medical Center. Dr. Shelly Rambo is Associate Professor of Theology at Boston University School of Theology, and her research and teaching interests focus on religious responses to suffering, trauma, and violence. Dr. Steven Sandage is the Albert and Jessie Danielsen Professor of Psychology of Religion and Theology at Boston University and Director of the Danielsen Research Center and is co-author of three books: To Forgive is Human, The Faces of Forgiveness; Searching for Wholeness and Salvation; and Transforming Spirituality: Integrating Theology and Psychology.

Dr. Janet Helms–“Identity and Racial Traumaâ€
Dr. Helms is the Augustus Long Professor in the Department of [...]Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology and Director of the Institute for the Study and Promotion of Race and Culture at Boston College. She has written over sixty empirical and theoretical articles and four books on the topics of racial identity and cultural influences on assessment and counseling practice.
Her Books include A Race Is a Nice Thing To Have (Microtraining Associates) and (with Donelda Cook) Using Race and Culture in Counseling and Psychotherapy: Theory and Process (MA: Allyn & Bacon).

Dr. Charles Strozier--“The Apocalyptic Other: Reflections on the Religious and Psychological Basis of Contemporary [...]Political Violenceâ€
Dr. Strozier is a senior training and supervising psychoanalyst at the Training and Research Institute in Self Psychology (TRISP) and is a practicing psychoanalytic psychotherapist in New York City. He is also a professor of history at John Jay College and the Graduate Center, City University of New York. Among his many publications, Dr. Strozier is the author of Until the Fires Stopped Burning: 9/11 and New York City in the Words and Experiences of Survivors and Witnesses (Columbia University Press, 2011) and a senior editor of The Fundamentalist Mindset: Psychological Perspectives on Religion, Violence, and History (Oxford University Press, 2010)

Dr. Bessel van der Kolk – “The Body Keeps the Score: How Trauma Is Lodged in Embodied Experienceâ€
Dr. van [...]der Kolk has been the Medical Director of The Trauma Center in Boston for the past 30 years and is past President of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Though he identifies himself primarily as a clinician, he has published well over 100 peer reviewed scientific articles on various aspects of trauma, including the use of yoga and neurofeedback in the treatment of PTSD.
