4th Annual Commonwealth Avenue Charity Classic

You are invited to participate in the BU Pep Band along with students and fellow alumni as current and former NHL players face off in this BC vs BU alumni charity hockey game in honor of Pete Frates, Dick Kelley, Travis Roy, and all those who have been affected by ALS and spinal cord injuries. All proceeds benefit Compassionate Care ALS, Pete Frates Home Health Initiative, and the Travis Roy Foundation. The game has raised over $180,000 since its inception in 2015! This event is open to BU Bands alumni and students.

Details
Schedule
5:00pm – Band Room opens (300 Babcock St). Get your instrument, book, shirt, etc.
6:00pm – Call time at Walter Brown Arena (section 6), ensemble warm up
6:20pm – Begin performing for the crowd
7:00pm – Pregame Ceremony (Band Room now closes)
7:05pm – GAME T-I-M-E!!!!!!

Any Family and Friends may purchase tickets at the main website.
All webform submissions must be submitted by Wednesday, August 15th, 2018, at 11:59pm. Note: No roster will be published – if you sign up, you’re IN!
Event Information
Personnel
This band is open to current students as well as alumni. We would never want to take away students’ privilege to play at high-profile games like this one, but we still encourage any and all alumni to come play – BU Bands wants all hands on deck and could use your help! It’s okay if you are rusty on your instrument, we still want you to come!
Uniform
A uniform look has been requested. The uniform for this event is the red BU Bands polo shirt (any year 2010 thru present), black pants, and any shoes. Please indicate your need to borrow a current polo in the webform below.
Instruments
If you would like to borrow an instrument, it is first come, first serve. If you are bringing your own mouthpiece (Specifically Low Brass), but borrowing a BU instrument, please specify large or smallbore in the webform to ensure you receive the correct horn that fits your mouthpiece.
Check-In
This is a Friday night game – There is NO PROBLEM with being late to call time, however please ensure you check-in at the band room FIRST before heading to Walter Brown Arena.
Food
We encourage you to plan ahead in regards to dinner – No food will be provided due to the 6:00pm call time, and there is no guarantee that there will be time during intermissions to get concession food – We may be playing trading tunes with BC’s Pep Band at this time.
Postgame
As always, we encourage you to swing by T’s Pub after the game for a drink and to connect!
