Terriers, the end of the semester is just a couple of weeks away. And with the warmer spring weather, it’s the perfect time to get out and explore. We have a great roundup of events this weekend, including a BU production of a classic Broadway musical, kayaking, and concerts from some of BU’s premier a cappella groups.

Earth Month Restaurant Night at Marciano Dining Hall

Celebrate Earth Day (April 22) and head over to Marciano Commons for a sustainable and locally sourced menu by chef Jari Pohjolainen. There are only 50 seats available, so be sure to be there when doors open at 5:30 pm!

Thursday, April 23, Marciano Commons, 100 Bay State Rd. Doors open at 5:30 pm.

BU On Broadway Presents Merrily We Roll Along

BUOB closes out its 2025–26 season with a production of Stephen Sondheim’s beloved 1981 musical Merrily We Roll Along, which was the subject of a Tony Award–winning 2024 revival starring Jonathan Groff. The show includes such Sondheim classics as “Not a Day Goes By,” “Opening Doors,” and “Good Thing Going.”

Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24, 8 pm, and Saturday, April 25, 1 and 8 pm, Student Theater at Agganis Arena. RSVP here.

Sunset Kayaking

What better way to spend an early spring evening than taking a sunset kayak trip on the Charles River. Sponsored by BU Outdoor Programs, the event offers a blend of relaxation and natural beauty with stunning views.

Friday, April 24, 6:45 to 8:15 pm. Tickets for FitRec members are $25; $30 for nonmembers. Register here.

World Tai Chi Day

Come celebrate World Tai Chi Day at this free event at Rose Kennedy Greenway, next to Boston’s iconic Chinatown Gate. Instructors, students, and friends of the Bow Sim Mark Tai Chi Arts Association, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will be on hand to host what bills itself as “the longest-running tai chi event in Boston.” The free event is open to experts and beginners alike.

Saturday, April 25, from 10 to 11:30 am, Auntie Kay & Uncle Frank Chin Park, Rose Kennedy Greenway. Rain date is Sunday, April 26.

KPop Demon Hunters Brunch

Big fan of KPop Demon Hunters or its soundtrack? Head downtown for this all-ages brunch inspired by the hit film. Enjoy movie-themed food and drinks, while you rock out to the award-winning soundtrack.

Saturday, April 25, 11 am to 3 pm, Ned Devine’s, 1 N. Market St., Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Reservations can be made here.

A cappella concerts

Fans of BU’s a cappella groups are in luck this weekend. Aural Fixation hosts their final performance of the year, Happaurally Ever After, featuring songs by artists like Bruno Mars, Laufey, The Neighbourhood, and Queen. Four groups are hosting spring concerts: Chordially Yours, BU’s all women and nonbinary a cappella group; Forté, whose show will feature a medley of songs; the Allegrettos, who will present Never Ending Gretto Sun; and the Dear Abbeys, who, in addition to their usual repertoire—including songs by Ariana Grande, Fleetwood Mac, Harry Styles, and Billy Joel—will include skits, comedy, short films, and more.

Aural Fixation’s Happaurally Ever After is Saturday, April 25, 7 pm, in Room 101, Kenmore Classroom Building, 565 Commonwealth Ave. RSVP here.

Forté’s spring concert is Saturday, April 25, at 7 pm, at 24 Cummington Mall. RSVP here.

The Allegrettos spring concert is Saturday, April 25, at 7 pm, at the Photonics Center, 8 St. Mary’s St. RSVP here.

The Dear Abbeys spring concert is Saturday, April 25, at 7 pm, in the School of Law Auditorium, 767 Commonwealth Ave. RSVP here. Admission for this show is free for BU students, $5 general admission.

Chordially Yours’ spring concert is Sunday, April 26, at 6 pm, in the Kenmore Classroom Building, 565 Commonwealth Ave. RSVP here.

BU Softball vs Holy Cross

Come out and cheer on BU’s softball team who hosts Holy Cross this weekend, as they wind down their regular season. The Terriers are 15-1 at home this season, with 10 shutouts and a perfect 10-0 record against nonconference opponents. They have clinched the top seed in the Patriot League tournament, which they’ll host May 7 to 9. Head coach Ashley Waters reached the 400-win milestone earlier this week, after the team defeated Rhode Island 6-0 on April 21. The games will also be televised on ESPN+ and will stream live here.

Saturday, April 25, at noon and 2 pm, and Sunday, April 26, at noon, BU Softball Field.
