The streets of Boston University are back to bustling with students with backpacks and boots trekking the snow-ridden sidewalks. With the weekend coming up, check out our list of events around campus, like Winter Weeks of Welcome and SPLASH 2.0, as well as activities around the city, such as a sculpture exhibition, a running convention, and more. Have fun—and stay warm.
Winter Weeks of Welcome: LEGOs and Eggos
Kick off Winter Weeks of Welcome with the perfect combination of LEGOs and Eggo waffles (well, okay, they’re not technically Eggos). Come to the George Sherman Union Backcourt for a showing of The LEGO Batman Movie (2017) and a piping hot Belgian waffle from Zinneken’s in Harvard Square. Free LEGO kits will be handed out to attendees while supplies last.

Sustainability & Innovation Conference
The BU Entrepreneurs Club is putting students, start-ups, professors, and more under one roof to discuss sustainability—and you’re invited. Learn about the latest developments in innovation and the future of sustainability. This free event features networking opportunities, start-ups, a panel discussion, and food.

Cinematheque: An Evening with Jonathan Collier
Are you a fan of The Simpsons? How about King of the Hill? Maybe Monk, Bones, or Law & Order? Emmy Award–winning TV writer Jonathan Collier has an impressive résumé when it comes to some of the most iconic comedy and drama series, and he’s coming to campus to answer your questions. Stop by on Friday evening as a part of the Film and Television Program’s Cinematheque series to meet the decorated writer and producer.

SPLASH 2.0
If you missed the fall installment of BU’s student activities fair, you’re still in luck: SPLASH 2.0 is Saturday, offering you another chance to browse all that student life has to offer, including club sports, cultural groups, professional organizations, and more. Winter Weeks of Welcome: Clothing Drive
If you’re looking to discard some clothes or pick up a new wardrobe, this is the event for you. The finale to the Winter Weeks of Welcome is on Sunday with a clothing drive in the GSU Small Ballroom.

Matthew Bajor: Interference Patterns
“Bright colors, transparent shapes, and distorted angles”—this is how artist Matthew Bajor’s latest exhibition is described. The sculpture exhibition takes inspiration from Bajor’s experience with a family member who with Alzheimer’s. Stop by the Crossings Gallery at the Harvard Ed Portal on Friday night for an opening reception, complete with networking, snacks, and an art-making activity.

The Boston Run Show
As runners begin to gear up for marathon season, the Boston Run Show—a convention devoted to running and jogging—is a can’t-miss experience. Stop by to check out everything from gold medalist speakers to the latest innovations to nutrition advice and be one of over 10,000 people expected at Hynes Convention Center this weekend.
Saturday, January 27, and Sunday, January 28. The event will be held at Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston St., Boston, from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. Purchase tickets, which are $10 for a day or $15 for the weekend, here.
