    1. To the person who responded to the comment about heart: seriously? Look at the writer’s credentials. Clearly she uses her head. Maybe it’s you who should examine your heart. Thank you for writing this POV!

      1. I’m sure the writer is very knowledgeable. Im just pointing out that we should put more weight on political merit. Electing officials based on the amount of DEI boxes they check will only set the country back. I’m all for women in power but Kamala ain’t it . Sorry

        1. “Electing officials based on the amount of DEI boxes they check”? What a narrow-minded, dismissive, and presumptuous statement.

Along with this, the use of “DEI” is neither creative nor data-based. The lady has a ton of credentials, including being a prosecutor for LA County, including being a VP. At least try to come up with a more original term for your bias.

Many folks on the fence have openly longed for an alternative to Biden/Trump. Well, here it is. At least focus on what Harris has to assert in the coming months before being so dismissive and presumptuous.

        2. Agree. Biden was the one who said he was looking for a black woman when picking a VP. It was just as annoying as when Bush said he had a binder full of women. Kamala’s main project as VO was securing the border and she failed at that.

          1. We’ve approved this comment, but with this correction: It was Mitt Romney who made the comment “binders full of women.” — The editors.

  1. If Mexico can elect Claudia Sheinbaum, a Jewish female scientist and former academician, as president, the U.S. should be able to elect Kamala Harris.

  2. Vice President Harris is not a DEI hire. She comes with over 34 years of dedicated work and accomplishments on the Biden-Harris ticket. This extensive experience laid the groundwork for her to be selected as VP and now running for President.

It’s important to recognize that women of color are among the most unprotected people on earth, often having to be more credentialed than their counterparts. The current GOP candidate running for President is a convicted felon with zero credentials. You don’t have to vote for her, but it’s crucial not to diminish her accomplishments by using DEI as a slur.

FYI, more non-POC individuals benefit from DEI initiatives than is often acknowledged.
