Why should I go?
Looking to catch a break from Star Market or Trader Joe’s? Try some grocery shopping at the Brighton Farmers Market, held Wednesday afternoons through October. The Allston Brighton Health Collaborative, a network of local organizations, has hosted the market since 2016.
More than two dozen vendors from across the region converge at the Brighton Common, selling fresh produce, fish, and meat. Other vendors sell fresh bread, homestyle hot sauce, superfood snacks, and prepared foods like pies and cookies. When you’re done with your grocery haul, update your skincare routine with restorative, plant-based products from AMAL. For beverages, check out vendors selling coffee, cold-pressed juices, and hard cider made with local apples.
Make a trip to the farmers market a family excursion and enjoy live music at the Brighton Farmers Market’s Concert in the Common series, hosted in partnership with Harvard Ed Portal. These monthly concerts are free for all, and feature a variety of local artists playing music ranging from R&B to rock. Check out the concert schedule here—and don’t forget to bring a cozy blanket or lawn chair.
Whether you’re stocking your fridge with produce, looking for a special gift for a friend, or catching some tunes, the Brighton Farmers Market is an easy way to support regional small businesses and get that farm-to-table feeling.
