Their annual show will feature popular Bollywood dance numbers and promises to tug at the nostalgic heartstrings of die-hard Bollywood junkies while also exciting newcomers about the dance style. Keep an ear out for songs by popular artists Aye Meri Johrajabeen, Chikni Chameli, and Pyaar Hota Kayi Baar Hai. Dancers will wear elaborate Bollywood costumes.
Boston Bollywood started as a performance dance company in 2016. It offers lessons and performance opportunities to adults in the Boston area, as well as wedding dance instruction and workshops in greater New England.
The company’s founder and artistic director is Swati Tiwari, who has been dancing since she was five. Tiwari is trained in Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Bollywood, folk, and jazz styles.
