F*ck It Won’t Cut It Shares Advice for the Spring Semester
Along with COVID-19 precautions, saying “F-t” to your mental health needs is never a good idea
Here we go again. College during a pandemic may be different, but we survived the fall and are ready to kick off spring. To help you tackle this semester like a champ, F*ck It Won’t Cut It team members offer up a few tips and tricks to help you start on the right foot.
Take breaks from your computer.
“Schedule time away from your computer. Whether it’s reading a book or listening to music, it’s nice to give yourself a break.”—Chris Young (COM’21)
Treat yourself every once in a while. You’ve earned it.
“Uber Eats and Grubhub are my new favorite apps. I love to get delicious takeout from a local place at least once a week. It makes me feel like I’m going out to a fancy dinner (but I can watch YouTube at the table).”—Hannah Schweitzer (COM’21)
Take advantage of living in Boston.
“Schedule safe outings such as walks for coffee and food with friends, and add them to your calendar for something to look forward to. Also, utilize BlueBikes around the city of Boston.”—Megan Coats (COM’21)
Prioritizing your mental health is not a waste of time.
“Make time for yourself and your well-being. While it’s easy to get caught in studying, work, and networking, it’s essential to make time for yourself or else you’ll burn out before the semester ends.”—Niharika Verma (COM’21)
Stay true to your personal comfort zone when it comes to safety.
“Don’t feel pressured to go outside of your own COVID-19 comfort zone. It’s important to understand that we all may feel a bit differently about how we individually like to stay safe. Kindness and understanding are what will get us through the semester, not going to a restaurant or taking the T if you don’t feel comfortable with that.”—Evan Brown (’COM23)
Spend time doing what makes you happy.
“Listen to music, work out, and be socially distanced hanging out with friends.”—Moriah Schoeffer (COM’23)
Exercise outside with friends on campus or around Boston.
“Play sports like soccer to help you exercise and stay in a safe distance.”—Michael Hepu Zhang (COM’21)
