To Do Today: Jazz & Blues Concert Series Kicks Off in the South End
What? Jazz & Blues Concert Series in the South End

Where? South End Library Park, 685 Tremont Street, Boston. To get to South End Library Park, take a Green Line E train to Prudential, and walk half a mile.
How much? Free
Why should I go? The free Jazz & Blues at Library Park concert series has been a tradition in the South End for close to a decade. The concerts are funded by locals to honor the history of jazz and blues in the South End (the South End had many jazz clubs in the 1940s). This year, saxophonist and Berklee grad Pat Loomis and the Friends Band, who are the staples of each performance, will be accompanied by four guest artists. Performing tonight is Eguie Castrillo, an associate professor of Latin percussion at Berklee.
Tonight’s performance is the first in a four-part series, with concerts July 30, and August 20 and 27. Concerts are held rain or shine, and audience members are welcome to bring their own seating and grab a piece of fresh watermelon, courtesy of the Friends of the South End Library.
