Good-bye, Mom, Hello, College
Parents gear up for their new freshmen to leave the nest
Last week, almost 3,600 freshmen descended on BU, trailed by U-Hauls, suitcases, family members (and maybe a stuffed animal or two). After unloading the car, struggling with bed risers, last-minute trips to Target and Bed Bath & Beyond, and breaks for lunch, it was time for parents to say good-bye.
BU Today caught up with some members of the Class of 2020 and their families at this watershed moment in their lives. We asked parents to tell us about its significance, for both their children and themselves, and to share their hopes and dreams for their new Terriers.
Missing your college freshman? Family and Friends Weekend is just around the corner, October 21 to 23.
