BU Today Seeks Summer, Fall Interns
Deadline for applying is April 8

If you are an experienced writer, BU Today would like to hear from you.
For summer 2016, we are seeking two interns who have strong writing skills and can make a full- or part-time commitment as general assignment writers. The paid positions run from mid-May through Labor Day.
We also have two paid internships available for the 2016–2017 academic year. We need students who can start in September, make a yearlong commitment, and work 10 to 15 hours a week, writing lunch and nightlife reviews, articles about University events and clubs, and student profiles.
Other responsibilities for both the summer and fall positions may include helping staff writers with background research, transcribing audio, close-captioning videos, and assisting with breaking news stories.
Previous journalism experience and clips are a must.
As well as writers, we are looking for a detail-oriented calendar production intern to work 10 hours a week, starting in August and continuing throughout the academic year. This student would oversee administration of the BU events calendar. Training will be provided. Tasks include reviewing new events submitted to the calendar and ensuring that all required information has been included; troubleshooting, approving, or deleting events as necessary; updating calendar events to add or edit event information; and monitoring emails sent to a dedicated calendar email address and responding as necessary. Emails from calendar users may relate to technical issues, event information updates, and other issues.
The deadline for applying for these positions is Friday, April 8.
For more information about the positions (including salary), visit the jobs board at the BU Student Link. To apply for an internship, send résumé, writing clips, and references to Mara Sassoon at msassoon@bu.edu.
