It’s July, which in Boston means that tomato season has finally arrived. And you’ll find dozens of varieties—just off the vine—for sale today at the Copley Square Farmers Market. More than two dozen vendors line the square each Tuesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May through November, offering fresh-cut flowers, fruits and vegetables, fresh baked goods, cheeses, meat, and seafood—all grown and harvested here in Massachusetts. So stop by on your lunch hour to pick up a sandwich or on your way home to grab the fixings for a great dinner.
Right now, the market is overflowing with delectable greens, berries, potatoes, peppers, squash, and potted herbs. You’ll find vibrant sunflowers from Siena Farms as well as colorful mixed bouquets from a number of vendors. You can purchase seafood from Red’s Best and Boston Smoked Fish Co. and meats from River Rock Farm and Stillman’s Farm.

The market also offers an assortment of unique specialty foods. Handmade pasta by Valicenti Organico includes items like sriracha spaghettini and lemon basil linguine, gluten-free ravioli and pasta, and sauces like arugula-pistachio pesto and butternut and parmigiano “golden gravy.” The popular Somerville 7ate9 Bakery sells mini versions of its legendary cheesecakes along with cookies and other baked goods. To cool off, you’ll find refreshing maple mint tea courtesy of Cook’s Farm and a variety of coffee beverages from Granite Ledge Coffee.
The Copley Square Farmers Market is operated by Mass Farmers Markets, a nonprofit supporting area farmers and providing nutritious locally grown and produced food.
